There’s always a good time when Pippi Longstocking is around. Pippi Longstocking is a fictional character in the movie ”The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking.” Pippi is one of the most adventurous characters I have known of. Everyday of my childhood, I would find myself watching Pippi and singing along to the theme song. There was never an episode without the theme song to go along with it. For me, the theme song represented a new adventure with Pippi. Whether she would be flying in the air or jumping off a cliff, there was never a boring day with Pippi. In the first few lines of the song it says, “freedom calls and Pippi runs the girl who never heard she couldn’t do something” along with something that sounds like chimes in the beginning of the song. The music slowly starts to build up and then boom, there is somewhat of a burst in the beat. It somewhat seems like Pippi is starting to get an idea or a spur of curiosity, and then, it builds up to the point where she can no longer wait to begin a new adventure. Throughout the entire theme song, you can hear that build up (with instruments such as drums, electric piano, and a chime sound) eventually leading into the adventure, and then the cycle begins all over again. When the drums come in, that is when you really hear that boom/change in song. Gradually throughout the theme song you begin to learn more about Pippi and a reason for why she is so interested in going on these adventures. “The New Adventures Pippi Longstocking” theme song is one that I will always remember because of the anticipation it gave me for Pippi’s next new adventure.
