Do you ever just listen to a song that makes you feel an unexplainable overflow of emotions every single time you hear it? Whether it be happiness, sadness, empowerment or defeat, songs can evoke a certain feeling that impacts you in a great way and movie producers know this. That’s why, when making a movie, specifically a series or saga, they tend to pick music from composers who make extraordinary arrangements that leaves you with a feeling of nostalgia and excitement. Such words can be used to describe the infamous Avengers Theme Song by Music Composer Alan Silversti, who created a memorable theme song that not only uplifts spirits, giving a sense of hope, but also makes one feeling empowered and mighty. Although the music leading up to the main theme has changed a few times with every movie made, the main melody that defines the Avengers has always stayed the same. The original soundtrack for the theme song was called “The Avengers” but with every change in the music, the names changed as well, which is why the last most recent theme is called “Portals”. (Main Theme played starting at 1:36 in “Avengers” and 2:00 in “Portals”) The Avengers motif is always played in a time when the heroes unite and give it their all in an attempt to save humanity, never faltering to give the audience faith that they will succeed. The beautiful harmony of all the orchestral instruments playing in a powerful manor help give off the superhero vibe the piece needed to capture. Whenever one hears the main theme play, they too should feel like an Avenger, fighting in the battle alongside the planet’s most mightiest heroes.
