If you haven't heard of the band PRETTYMUCH then you're pretty much living under a rock. PRETTYMUCH is an American boy band that was formed by Simon Cowell in 2016. They are very well known for their pop and contemporary R&B music. Recently they released an EP called "Phases", and one song that really stood out to me was "Gone 2 Long." The song was written and produced completely by the band and showcases their impressive vocal skills. "Gone 2 Long" is a sad love song that addresses the hardships of a long distance relationship. Throughout the song the chord progression C, G, Dm, and F is kept consistent. These chords not only set the mood of the song, but it enhances each band member's voice. This song demonstrate how chord progression is important in terms of harmonies and melodies, and also helps in understanding how the tone of a song can evoke different emotions.
