Brendon Urie Has The Voice of an Angel

Bridget Ebbert

Just as it is rare to find a female singer who can hit the lowest notes of a bass, it is equally as difficult to find a male singer who can hit the highest notes of a soprano. Brendon Urie's voice stretches from an E2, the lowest note for a bass, to a D6, a note higher than the soprano range. Urie is the lead singer and only remaining member of Panic! At The Disco, an emo-rock band that rose to fame following the massive success of their 2005 hit "I Write Sins Not Tragedies." His extreme vocal range and ability to move his voice effortlessly from one note to the next has landed his voice immense notoriety. Not only is he the lead singer of Panic! At The Disco, but he has also been on Broadway in the smash hit "Kinky Boots" portraying Charlie Price during the summer of 2017. A video of Urie performing the song "Soul of a Man" from the show went viral on twitter prior to his debut. The song's vocal range requires a singer that can move their voice between a C4 to a Bb5, or a high bass to a soprano. The video shocked both long time fans of Panic! At The Disco and people who have never heard of Urie when they heard his exquisite voice. Urie's vocal chops have once again reemerged into pop culture conversation following the release of his collaboration with Taylor Swift for her new album with the song entitled "ME!"
